Orange-crowned Toadlet

Description: The body is grey to chocolate brown with an orange triangular splotch on the top of the head. An orange spot is also evident on the upper arm and rear. The skin is either smooth or has a number of flattened warts. The belly is marbled black and white.

Male size: 22-24 mm
Female size: 21-26 mm

Breeding: Breeds after rains during the summer (December) through to autumn (May).  Larval life lasts 40-50 days.

Call: This frog has a short grating call.

SA Distribution: Found in the very dry areas of north western South Australia.

Habitat: Found in shallow tunnels, under debris, rocks or near temporary and permanent springs and pools.
