Cyclorana platycephala
Description: The frog has a flat head and small eyes. Skin colour ranges from dull grey to dark brown or green, with a white belly. The toes are completely webbed. Dry periods are spent underground in a cocoon made from shed skin.
Male size: 42-64 mm
Female size: 50-72 mm
Breeding: Large amounts of spawn are laid in still water after floods. Tadpoles reach a maximum of 60 mm.
Call: Call is a drawn out snoring "maw-w-w-w ........maw-w-w-w".
SA Distribution: Limited to the north of the State, particularly north-east.
Habitat: Found in grasslands, temporary swamps, claypans, and billabongs.
